Why a wound won’t heal

For nearly 25 million Americans, several factors from diabetes and other specific conditions to increased challenges due to the aging process in general, lead to chronic, non-healing wounds. In some cases, these wounds can take weeks, months or even years to fully heal, dramatically affecting a patient’s quality of life. Memorial’s wound care specialists make up an integrated team of health professionals that specialize in managing complex and difficult wounds.
