Early detection remains a woman's best defense in the battle against breast cancer. Like all cancers, breast cancer develops when abnormal cells in the body change and grow out of control. When problematic breast tissue cells are diagnosed early, the prognosis for cure is extremely high.

To fully serve the needs of women, a comprehensive approach to breast health is vital. ’Ohana offers a communications linkage for women to access doctors, diagnosticians, counselors and other health professionals. The goal is to improve each woman's health experience, by providing a haven of information, comfort and encouragement. Although mammography services are the foundation of ’Ohana, additional diagnostic and support services are offered in the same beautiful facility.

‘Ohana offers walk-in clinic hours for screening mammograms on Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m.  No appointment in necessary—just bring the name of your primary care physician with you.  Patients will be seen in the order of arrival.  Spanish interpreters are available.

  • A supporter for the breast cancer patient and her family in understanding the emotions that accompany breast cancer diagnosis.
  • A provider of educational resources for the patient and her family.
  • A facilitator of physician’s recommendations.
  • A public educator on the early detection of breast cancer and self-exam skills.

Take 20 on the 20th

The Take 20 on the 20th program is dedicated to reminding women of the importance of conducting monthly breast self-exams. By setting aside 20 minutes on the 20th of each month, women can ensure regular breast screening. For more information on breast self-exam, click here.

Your doctor will either contact ’Ohana to arrange an appointment or you can call (509) 574-3863 to schedule your mammogram. Please check with your doctor’s office for instructions clarifying how to make arrangements for your mammogram.
