Our Services

Cardiac Rehabilitation

The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Memorial’s 16th Avenue Station teaches patients with established heart disease how to recognize and modify their coronary risk factors. The cardiac rehab team works with patients and their physicians to improve functional capacity, lessen activity-related symptoms and reduce disability through a blend of exercise training and educational classes. Each individualized program lasts between six and 12 weeks depending on patient need.

We offer our patients:

  • A dedicated facility with the sole aim of returning patients to physical health.
  • Classes to help patients learn to manage coronary risk factors and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Guidance in developing a safe exercise routine.
  • Health Matters Ad
  • Access to nutritional counseling, smoking cessation and medication management.
  • Support in adopting relaxation techniques to help manage anxiety, depression, grief and loss.
  • Continuous support for program graduates.
  • Ongoing exercise program for graduates five days a week.

Who benefits?

  • Angina.
  • Heart attack.
  • Heart failure.
  • Heart valve surgery.
  • Coronary bypass surgery.
  • Angioplasty/stents.
  • Heart transplant.
  • Other heart-related problems.

Class times

One-hour exercise classes are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 a.m. or 9 a.m. with an educational class for both groups at 8 a.m. In the afternoon exercise classes take place at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with our educational class at 3 p.m.
