About Us

What is Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital—beyond the obvious, of course? For some, Memorial is the stately brick building that has been located at 28th Avenue and Tieton Drive for 60 years. For others it is where they took their first breath, or where they experienced a joyful birth of a loved one. Some recall memories of an early trip to the emergency room for treatment of a broken arm or leg.

In recent years, Memorial has come to represent state-of-the-art, quality-of-life health care services, such as the addition of the award-winning Children's Village facility, world-class cancer care available at North Star Lodge, the comprehensive occupational and return-to-function services available at Memorial’s 16th Avenue Station or ’Ohana, Memorial’s Mammography and women’s health care center.

Local children may think of Memorial when they meet SafetySaurus^® or participate in a Passport to Health^® class at school.

Whatever comes to mind, hopefully it is far more than the main building at 2811 Tieton Drive. Through innovative community collaborations, Memorial has built a network of support encompassing primary health care and health education that’s second to none for a community of our size.
